Reaching new heights, the Science Supplements Bolesworth Elite Foal & Embryo Auction inspired and captivated with its best ever collection. Providing a unique opportunity to secure youngstock with highly desirable, sought-after pedigrees from world class stallions and impressive Black Type damlines, the triumphant evening saw twenty-six sterling Lots brought forward for bidding.
The first Lot of the evening set the tone with a very unique opportunity, a fully insured embryo by Chacco Blue out of Funky Music, who herself is defined as a super mare with her exquisite talent and breeding. Combined with the prolific stallion of the moment, sire to Olympic Individual Gold Medallist Explosion W, the one and only Chacco Blue, created an exciting opportunity for the new owner in what will certainly be a star of the future. The hammer fell and sold at a £28,000.
Fast paced bidding was certainly the theme of the evening, especially in the case of the evening’s topper, Lot 24 Empower DSH Z. By the incredible ride of Harrie Smolders, Emerald, with the same stamp, power and presence of this father and out of proven dam Gazelle De La Pomme, whose offspring consist of a strong line of winners including Kentucky De La Pomme. This combination of blood leaves little else to be desired. The bay colt impressed the room and initiated a fiercely fought battle of bids, before being secured for £43,000.
Attracting a high level of interest with quick off the mark bidding, Lot 5 Cabago WY Z offered all the natural athleticism and presence desired for top sport. Out of a proven 1.60m performing mare in her own right, Whoopie C, with established Grand Prix offspring in Tobago Z and HH Donnatella. With a phenomenally strong dam and by the Nations Cup winner Catoki, it was easy to understand the high demand for this strong colt. Bidding continued from both online and in the room before the hammer fell on £40,000.
Alongside individual foal and embryo Lots, the evening offered buyers an opportunity to purchase the ultimate ‘three for one’ package. Lot 16, Arko De Aganix, by leading sire Aganix Du Seigneur previous ride of Jos Lansink, who is consistently producing performers to 1.60m level. The dam is none other than Lady Arko, full sister to the late legend Arko III, who was also included in the sale of this special Lot. To take this Lot to new heights, the dam included in the sale has also been scanned in foal to Escape Z, which is included in the purchase of this package. A highly valuable asset to any breeder, this Lot attracted bidders immediately, with the opportunity to secure one foal at foot, an Escape Z embryo and the Argentinus dam. Bids increased in significant increments at speed, then sealing the purchase at £40,000.
A notable sale of the evening included Lot 13, the bay colt Arkola out of Lauren Hough’s top performer in her own right Ohlala, also boasting a damline full of 1.60m performers. The sire needs no introduction, the renowned ride of Nick Skelton, Arko III. This Lot promises to be an exciting prospect for the future, already showing all the scope and athleticism of his parentage.
